Music
The primary purpose of the Adult Choir at Amissville is to glorify God through our
ministry of worship and music. The role of the adult choir is to serve as worship
leaders. The adult choir ministers weekly in the 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning worship
service, and for special seasonal presentations at Christmas and Easter. Any adult
who expresses a desire to join their heart and voice with others may join our adult
choir by attending a rehearsal, Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
The Rejoicers’ Choir is our children’s choir. Participating in worship services
and presenting musicals, this choir incorporates musical and dramatic skills providing
Biblical foundations, and teaches team work. The Rejoicers’ musicals are some of
the many highlights of the music ministry. Practices are held Wednesday evenings
at 7:00 p.m. during the school year.
The handbell choir at Amissville Baptist Church plays in worship services and at
special seasonal events. This ministry is open to all adults with the church. Practices
are Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m.
Hymn Sings are held occasionally throughout the year on Sunday evenings. Musical
talents from both within and outside the church provide great blessing by performing
pieces that draw all closer to the throne of God. The congregation gets into the
act by calling out favorite hymns for all to sing. A joyous time is had by all.
Opportunities are always available for individuals or groups of members to provide
special music (vocal or instrumental) for the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Prior
approval from the Music Director is required.
